Can we make a new model from scratch? Do we have to make changes to the parameters without making any changes to code like we had to in the CVAE competition?

Yes, in this challenge, you are allowed to develop your own model from scratch. You can also choose to make modifications to the suggested framework. The choice is up to you.
Just remember that we will need a fully reproducible framework from you in both cases, so please pay attention to keeping your configurations, best parameters, seeds, etc.
